Entry-level helmet with premium brand feel
What’s in this review
In-depth analysis
The AGV K1 S sits at the entry point of the AGV range, and that lineage shows in the design. The shell profile draws clear inspiration from AGV’s flagship race helmets, giving it a premium silhouette that stands out next to other helmets in the 150-euro bracket.
Protection is the strongest aspect of this helmet. ECE 22.06 certification confirms it meets the current European standard, and the two-shell-size construction means the fit is more accurate than single-shell budget alternatives.
Comfort levels are consistently praised in independent testing. The interior lining is soft and well-fitted from the first session, with no significant break-in period required.
Ventilation performs adequately for everyday use but shows limitations at lower speeds and in stop-start traffic. For riding in southern Spain during summer, a helmet with larger ventilation channels would be a more practical choice for daily use.
The visor system is one of the K1 S’s most practical features. The fast-release mechanism allows a clean swap without tools, which matters for riders who use tinted visors in sunny conditions. The absence of a positive lock is a minor flaw noted by several reviewers, though in practice the visor stays securely closed during normal riding.
GEAR4MOTO VERDICT
The AGV K1 S delivers a premium brand experience at a budget price. Protection is solid, comfort is above average for the price, and the design sets it apart from generic alternatives. The lack of a sun visor is the main limitation for riders in sunny climates. If you ride primarily in the morning and evening or use a tinted visor, this is one of the best helmets available under 200 euros in 2026.
